Hey you!
OnlyFans, the subscription platform everyone is talking about. Yes, after announcing the end of adult content on the platform, it has just revealed the release of a new service: OFTV. The concept? A streaming service, free, and offering exclusive content.
OnlyFans launches its streaming service!
Until now, OnlyFans has been offering a paid subscription system to profiles with exclusive content (photos and videos). The platform recently announced the release of a brand new service: OFTV. The concept? In the same vein, this time OnlyFans emphasizes its positioning on the video format and launches a 100% free streaming service. The promise is to offer original content, available on its website or via an application on smartphones, tablets and connected TVs. A way for the app to expand its audience and reach more people? Let’s go back on the topics covered.
Varied and free contents
The platform also specified that OFTV would aim to share various contents on a wide range of themes of the creative economy (fitness, cooking, comedy, music, etc…). Only one main theme is missing? Did you guess which one? Pornographic contents. However, it is with this last one that the application had seduced millions of users and had gradually imposed itself as an essential subscription service. This turnaround echoes the other announcement that came in parallel. OnlyFans had declared to give up all adult content from next October before going back on their feet. So, what will the OnlyFans of tomorrow look like?
Competing with Youtube?
With OFTV, OnlyFans is directly competing with Youtube, TikTok, or even the IGTV part of Instagram. Will it be able to compete? For now, the platform is far from it since it claims only 800 videos and 100 creators on its new service, but things could quickly evolve.
