Hey you!

Vaccine rush and an avalanche of reactions on social networks. Gifs, memes of President Macron, internet users’ reactions, tips to steal a vaccine passport… We have selected for you the best reactions!

On Monday, July 13, President Emmanuel Macron made a speech to inform the French people of the situation and to keep them informed of upcoming measures. One of them? Vaccination is NOT obligatory, but is strongly encouraged. In concrete terms, from August 1st, it will be necessary to present a vaccination passport or at least a PCR test to go to any public place: restaurant, café, cinema, theater… And from October, the PCR tests won’t be free anymore. The result? a rush on appointments to get vaccinated. A record number of visits to the Doctolib website (which recently became a unicorn after raising 150 million euros). The CEO of the company expressed himself on Linkedin. More than 1.3 million appointments in less than 24 hours, an absolute record!

The media Topito hijacked a video showing a crowd movement, Internet users shared videos imitating absurd reactions of people going to make an appointment in a hurry, some others show scenes where those who are vaccinated are alone in the world…, in short everyone was really creative :

President Macron was mocked just a few seconds after the end of the speech. The reason? Not to make vaccination mandatory […] but to put in place a long list of measures that finally equal an almost equivalent result. We particularly liked the tweet just below, with the president winking.

Vaccinated people have had their 15 minutes of fame. If some are against what they call “sanitary dictatorship”, the vaccinated vs. unvaccinated match has given rise to magical reactions on social networks. The main reaction? The Internet users make fun of those who rush to the appointments to be vaccinated as soon as possible.

The medical appointment booking site Doctolib, as well as its CEO, have been mentioned in thousands of tweets.
