Hey you !

The first week of January has been agitated from a political point of view in France (vote for the vaccine pass in the assembly, complex sanitary situation, outbreak of Omicron cases, polemic of the European flag under the Arc de Triomphe, etc…). Each topic was also an opportunity for politicians to address some key points of their campaigns. And rightly so, let’s take a look at the themes that were the most talked about and relayed on social networks by Internet users.

Unsurprisingly, the volume of publications related to the 2022 Presidential election is starting to increase considerably. There are only a few weeks left before the polls, and Internet users are starting to take hold of the subject. The number of posts related to the theme has increased by more than 11% between the first week of January and the last week of December 2021. The study published by Visibrain also shows a peak of 35,000 posts on the last day of the year. This corresponds to the last speech of President Emmanuel Macron, for the traditional year-end greetings. The study also notes a second peak, this time on January 2nd. This time it corresponds to a key date: the start of the new school year (particularly expected following the new health measures put in place).

These 3 themes are linked to strong themes of the moment.

This study also analyzed the favorite campaign themes for Internet users. We find back to school and education (39,799 posts), health (34,289 posts), security (21,081 posts) and ecology (19,151 posts), immigration (15,348 posts). The latter had a more important place in the previous weeks but is going down in volume, dethroned by other news more relayed.

Eric Zemmour is the candidate who has been the most talked about for weeks. He is very often mentioned by Internet users. And precisely, a new phenomenon is gaining momentum. In recent days, we have seen the hashtag #ZOZZ. It has been used more than 33,122 times last week. The idea behind this cardboard? Replace the 2 of “2022” by the famous “Z” often put forward by the candidate.

The Presidential election is approaching, the topic is logically growing on social networks. Every week, the Visibrain institute analyzes the trends and topics that are on the rise. Vaccine pass, Omicron outbreak, European flag, rise of the hashtag #Z0ZZ… Back to the key trends of the beginning of the year.

[50
